夏本番を前に、TCBからちょっと季節に逆行する（笑）かもしれないジャケットが仕上がりました。

その名も30’s Jacket。
20’年代とは違い30年代の生地は私の解釈すが産業革命が始まりデニムの生地のオンスが一気に上がった気がします。
そのゴワゴワでコシの有る生地を再現したTCBの中でも最もヘビーな14.1ozとなります。

「今から着るのは暑すぎる！」という声も聞こえてきそうですが、
秋口に向けてじっくり育てていきたい方には、まさに今がスタートのタイミング。
子供の頃、夏にもGジャンや革ジャンを着用したくてクーラーでガンガンに冷やして家に居たら母親に怒れた淡い思い出も昨日の事のよう。

少しマニアックで一長一短ある着用方法ですが、少し汗が滲む季節の着用をする事で常にデニムに湿度が有る状態で着用できる為、ヒゲの定着率や色落ちのコントラストが出やすいのはあまりお勧めしない裏技です。
現にタイやジャカルタ辺りの暑い国のDENIM HEADS達が作る色落ちはヒゲとコントラストが激しいので立証済みです。

ただ今年もメチャクチャ暑いので自己責任で夏のDENIM LIFEをお楽しみ下さい。

As we head into the peak of summer, we’ve just finished a new jacket that might feel a little… off-season (haha).

Introducing the 30’s Jacket.

Unlike the fabrics of the 1920s, I personally believe that denim in the 1930s changed dramatically with the onset of the industrial revolution. The fabric weight seemed to suddenly increase—and we’ve recreated that stiff, tough texture with what is now the heaviest fabric in TCB’s lineup: 14.1oz.

You might be thinking, “It’s way too hot to wear this now!”
And you’d be right. But if you’re looking to start breaking in a jacket in time for fall, now is actually the perfect time to begin.

It reminds me of when I was a kid—I’d crank up the AC in the house just so I could wear a G-jacket or leather jacket in the summer. My mom always got mad at me for it… A faint memory that still feels fresh.

Here’s a bit of a denim geek tip (not officially recommended!):
Wearing denim in hot and sweaty conditions keeps the fabric constantly moist, which helps set whiskers and creates more dramatic fades and contrast.
In fact, many DENIM HEADS in hot countries like Thailand and Jakarta have proven this with their insane fade results.

But since this summer is also shaping up to be crazy hot, please enjoy your summer DENIM LIFE at your own risk!
