ちょうど1年前の今日、天然の本藍デニムで仕立てたNo.2 Jeans 1890を出国スタンプとともに発送させていただきました。

このジーンズ、生地の特性上、なかなか色落ちが進まない“シブトさ”も魅力のひとつ。というのも、経糸だけで4種類、横糸も含めると計6種類の異なる糸を使って織り上げた、非常に手の込んだ一本なんです。

しかもその糸は、太さもバラバラ。太い糸から徐々に擦れて色が落ちていくため、視認しづらいながらも、穿き込むごとに“太さによる色落ちの違い”が立体的に浮かび上がってきます。

良い色落ちを見ると、つい自分でも穿きたくなってしまうのですが、

これらの理由から、このジーンズは再生産なし。一度きりの生産で完結させると決めています。

Exactly one year ago today, we shipped out the No.2 Jeans 1890, stamped with a passport-style “departure” mark, made from naturally dyed indigo denim.

This fabric is known for being stubborn when it comes to fading—but that’s exactly what makes it so special. The warp yarns alone consist of four different types of thread, and when you include the weft yarns, a total of six unique yarns were used to weave this denim.

These yarns vary in thickness, and as you wear the jeans, the thicker threads begin to fade first. This creates a subtle but distinctive evolution in the fabric, where the variation in thread size leads to a multi-dimensional, layered fade that’s hard to replicate.

After seeing how beautifully they age, we sometimes find ourselves wanting to wear them again—but:

Because of all that, we’ve decided: no re-production. This model was made just once—never again.
